A flat pristine lawn looks good and is a lot easier to mow and even if your lawn is as hilly as dunes on a beach it doesn’t have to be.
There are a few things you’ll need to turn your lawn into a flat picture of perfection, they are;
A Lawn tractor or large muscular body, if you aren’t particularly built for this there are handymen that you can hire for this job.
A Lawn roller, these can be hired or bought from most gardening supply stores.
A Bumpy Lawn, no point in dragging a roller over a flat one.
Rain, the ground will need to be a bit damp for this job not waterlogged because if the roller is dragged along wet ground chances are it will get stuck and you won’t get it back till the ground is completely dry.
Grass Seed, to replace the brown patches and help the grass look even greener from the other side of the fence.
Now here’s what to do to level that bumpy lawn. Like I said earlier one of the key things to do, is wait for a few days after a good rain spell so the ground is slightly damp to the touch but not a bog.
Then you need to over seed your lawn with plenty of grass seed so that the roller can push the seed into the ground and give it a helping start to growth.
Then use the roller on the lawn, these can normally be filled with water to give them extra weight.
Pick a starting point, for example; next to your house or edge of your decking or patio. Move in a straight line to the bottom of your garden, turn and repeat cover your whole garden in this pattern two maybe three times. You don’t want to drag the roller wherever you feel because this will not level those bumps.
If you do decide to use the roller on ground that’s too wet, instead of flattening the lawn you’ll probably just leave large ruts which will be a lot harder to get out later.
Rest often if you decide to pull around a large heavy roller with yourself, gardening is hard work and you want to avoid injury whenever you can. Also remember to follow any guidelines that come with the roller, improper usage can cause serious back problems and ruin the garden at least temporarily.
Also you don’t want to overuse the roller or you will compact your soil. Once every other year should do it. Some even recommend not rolling at all.

Thank you just the advice i needed to get started on my bumpy lawn
Thanks, im going to start with leveling the garden this weekend!
